ko&co has changed shape. The physical workhub has closed.
And the workhub mattered. It was the centre of ko&co: a place where community, conversation, strategy, design and coworking sat together. It created connection, momentum and a sense of belonging for small business owners largely doing things on their own, which can be wildly rewarding and occasionally very “why am I doing this?”
It was an important part of ko&co’s story, and I am extremely proud of it.
At the same time, the deeper work of ko&co has been there since I left the 9 to 5 some five years ago: helping founders make sense of what they are building, find the thread, and create brands with enough clarity and structure to carry more of their own weight.
So this next chapter is not about pretending nothing has changed. It is about being clear about what has changed at ko&co, while bringing the strategic branding and design work to the front.
Today, ko&co focuses on strategic branding and design for small businesses: the thinking, visual identity, messaging and communication systems that help a business make sense to the people it needs to reach.
I’m telling you this because many of the founders I work with know what it feels like when a business changes shape. The offer evolves. The audience shifts. The old brand no longer fits quite as well as it used to. The next step is not always obvious, and pretending it is usually makes the whole thing more confusing than it needs to be.
That is often where the real brand work begins.
I’ve been there. I know what it looks like from the inside.
Most businesses don’t have a brand problem. They have a clarity problem.
The brand is there, it’s been built, adjusted, tweaked, potentially redone in Canva at 11pm, and handed to a designer once or twice. But somewhere between the vision and the execution, the thinking got scattered. And now it’s held together mostly by you, the founder.
Which is a lot to carry. ko&co exists to fix that. We’re a brand strategy and design studio for founder-led businesses: professional services and product- or service-based founder-led brands that want their brand to reflect what they have built.
The work is strategic and practical in equal measure. We don’t separate the thinking from the making. We ask better questions, find the thread, and build brands that can hold their direction without the founder having to translate everything by hand.
ko&co is a brand strategy and design studio based in Melbourne, working with founder-led businesses across Australia.
We work across brand strategy, identity, messaging, visual communication and the decisions that sit underneath all of it. The work is integrated because brands built in parts—strategy over here, design over there, marketing shouting from the sidelines—rarely work as well as they should.
Clarity × Humanity × Applied intelligence.
No jargon. No smoke and mirrors. Just a clearer brand system that helps your business make sense, hold direction and stop relying on you to translate everything by hand.
I have spent more than 25 years working across brand strategy, marketing and visual communication, long enough to know what actually works, what only looks good in a presentation, and what is just expensive decoration wearing confident shoes.
My career started in marketing agencies, where ideas were debated before they were executed. Things were designed deliberately. I have carried that discipline into every context since: inside organisations, alongside founders, across campaigns, partnerships, events, websites, retail, service businesses and my own business.
I have a science degree and a Master’s in Visual Communication. More connected than it sounds. Both are about curiosity, pattern recognition and understanding what is happening beneath the surface before deciding what to do with it.
At heart, I am a thinker and a maker. I like asking good questions, noticing the things other people walk past, and helping founders untangle complicated ideas until the real story becomes clear.
Brands are not just logos, campaigns or neat little systems. They are reflections of someone’s ambition, expertise, judgement and care.
Getting that right is a serious job. I treat it like one.
